Concursos (2014)

Here is a collaboration in the competition for the expansion of the MUNICIPALITY OF PORTO ALEGRE´S ADMINISTRATIVE HEADQUARTERS, in Brasil. Now the seat of the Municipality of Porto Alegre, is a design by architect Claudio Araujo, specially developed for this purpose in 1975. The project were developed alongside our friends from Urban Recycle Architecture Studio and Sanahuja&partners: Architecture from the Mediterranean.

Proyecto Fin de Carrera (2014)

This project proposes the intervention in the CONVENT AND TRAINING CENTER SAN MARTÍN DE PORRES, 1962-1964, (listed by the Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage in the Andalusian Registry of Contemporary Architecture and the Iberian DOCOMOMO Foundation), located in Granada, Spain and designed by Fray Coello de Portugal Acuña, one of the largest and unknown exponents of the Modern Movement in Spain.

The aim of this project is to explore the concept of recycling and to intervene in Historical Heritage. In order to renew the use of the building, it is given a new functional destination without being conditioned by the idea of restoration or consolidation. Revaluing their original architectural features but always through a new management model that gives hope for the future. Forcing proper conservation over time.

GLOBAL OBJETIVES OF THE INTERVENTION:

- Leverage knowledge as an economic engine and generator town.

- Build a network of relationships between universities and companies.

- Creative Heritage Management.

IDEOLOGY OF INTERVENTION:

- Recognize the singularity of the original project with contemporary sensibility.

- Continue with the ethics of Fray Coello, without demagogic justification ''get in the skin of the architect ''which would lead an immobility of the idea and matter.

- Incorporate advancements (accessibility, livability, sustainability) over a misplaced nostalgia.

- Recover Memory from the configuration of the new.

- Not all buildings can work for all.

INTERVENTION CONCEPTS

- Redefining the cloister, moving from contemplation, meditation and silence (for which was conceived) to activity and transit of its new functionality.

- Recover memory from the configuration of the new, moving the simple external volume to the user's perception.

- Original, conserve structurally everything possible.

- Remove what is superfluous, especially later additions and shabby parts of the original.

- New interventions, only the minimum for change of use.

- Use the change of use and travel, to evidence the original architectural scheme.

- ''Secret Building Program'', promoting ambiguous spaces without a specific functionality because it enrich the user experience.

- Porch, recover the idea of ''pilotis'', creating spaces full of shadow activity.

Proyectos V (2013)

Intervention and conservation of the UNIVERSITY DINNING ROOMS of the University of Granada.

The original building was built by Prieto-Moreno and Pardo in 1967. A project of simple architectural lines within the functionalism. The building consists of one floor with basement. It consists of three naves, a central courtyard provides a measured light eaters, brightness is reinforced by an uninterrupted series of windows.

Lack of office of the University of Granada led, in 1986, the adaptation of the basement of these canteens for that purpose. Currently in that basement are located services such as the Employment Service, the European Social Fund, Associations, etc.
